If you have a water damaged book, put it in the freezer. Services exist to repair them, apparently. Of course, our water damaged books are books, well, we put in the basement because they were deemed unworthy to take up precious shelf real estate. So they’re just a mess to clean up. Plumber arrived and fixed things. Jim and I discovered how fast hours fly by when you’re going through ruined crap in your basement. A disaster team is here with heavy duty stuff to dry things out. My sad little office heater is boldy saying it did what it could before they got here. Furnace repair still not here. I’m on Twitter and Facebook break. And my sites are still down, so no...

My sites are still down. I Should Be Writing, Murverse, Princess-Scientist, etc, all down for about 15 hours now. A pipe broke. The basement flooded and the new furnace shorted out. We are wet (with no water, very “greek hero punished in Hades”) and cold and moving many soaked boxes of books.  2010, you just had to get your last licks in, huh? Fuck you.

As a SF editor (with a sister fantasy magazine, so genre is pretty rigid), I think about this topic a lot.
